RAID 0 data recovery
RAID 0 known also as striping without parity, improves performance and additional storage but no redundancy or fault tolerance. Multiple hard drives are combined into one large volume. RAID 0 does not offer data redundancy and requires a minimum of two hard drives to be totally restored as a requirement for completing successful data recovery. Files are broken into stripes of a size defined by user. RAID 0 is most popular in low end marketplace, giving up redundancy allows this RAID level the best overall performance characteristics of the single RAID level.
Controller Requirements: supported by all types of controllers and software solutions
Hard Disk Requirements: minimum 2 hard drives, maximum is set by controller, all the discs should be the same size.
Array Capacity: size of the smallest drive*number of drives
Storage Efficiency: if drives are identical 100%
Fault tolerance: none, failure of any drive results in data loss
Availability: lowest of any RADI level, failure of any drive results in array being lost
Degradation and rebuilding: not applicable
Random read performance: very good, overall performance might be improved by using larger stripe sizes
Random write performance: very, good, might be improved by using larger strip sizes
Sequential read performance: very good
Sequential write performance: very good
