RAID 0+5 and 5+0 data recovery

RAID 0+5 and 5+0 is realized by block striping with distributed parity combined with block striping. The difference between RAID 5+0 and RAID 0+1 is that RAID 5+0 is a stripe across distributed parity RAID systems whilst RAID 5+1 is a mirror striped set with distributed parity. RAID 5+0 and 0+5 improve upon the performance of RAID 5 through the addition of RAID 0, particularly during writes. It also provides better fault tolerance than the single RAID level does, especially if configured as RAID 5+0.

Controller Requirements: specialized hardware controller
Hard Disk Requirements: number of discs is set by two integer numbers, one of them is 2 or higher and the second one is 3 or higher, minimum number of discs is 6, maximum is set by controller, all the discs should be the same size.
Array Capacity: the same as RAID 0+3 and 3+0
Storage Efficiency: the same as RAID 0+3 and 3+0
Fault tolerance: the same as RAID 0+3 and 3+0
Availability: very good
Degradation and rebuilding: fair good for RAID 5+0 and worse for RAID 0+5
Random read performance: very good
Random write performance: poor because of dual parity overhead and complexity
Sequential read performance: very good
Sequential write performance: good
